Site Facilities Engineer

Competent Site Facilities Engineer (Mechanical), responsible for general mechanical and facilities maintenance across site. Supporting the Facilities team and function as required.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Conducting installations, repairs and preventive maintenance to property, facilities, plant, and equipment (excluding specialist lab equipment)
  • Ensuring compliance of designated site systems to legal and site standards
  • To be responsible for relevant service contract visits, liaising with external contractors to arrange both service visits and call outs as required
  • To monitor designated contractor works on site to ensure they are carried out to timescale, quality, site health & safety, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • To carry out maintenance work throughout the site in accordance with planned preventative maintenance schedule
  • To produce specifications for owned tasks and functions as required, and to complete task reports as requested
  • To maintain mechanical and other relevant drawings and procedures for site
  • To take ownership for relevant ‘Site Help Desk’ calls, and other reactive works, and to ensure they are responded to and closed in accordance with agreed targets
  • To contribute at hands-on level to successfully deliver site development projects as necessary
  • Help to build and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external customers and contractors, and be visible in support of the science carried out on site
  • To provide out of hours support as agreed
  • Apply working knowledge and experience to EH&S issues as required by legislation (and applicable Directives)
  • Time served apprenticeship supported by relevant formal qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in a mechanical or engineering discipline
