Site Facilities Engineer
Competent Site Facilities Engineer (Mechanical), responsible for general mechanical and facilities maintenance across site. Supporting the Facilities team and function as required.
Activities and responsibilities
- Conducting installations, repairs and preventive maintenance to property, facilities, plant, and equipment (excluding specialist lab equipment)
- Ensuring compliance of designated site systems to legal and site standards
- To be responsible for relevant service contract visits, liaising with external contractors to arrange both service visits and call outs as required
- To monitor designated contractor works on site to ensure they are carried out to timescale, quality, site health & safety, and applicable regulatory requirements
- To carry out maintenance work throughout the site in accordance with planned preventative maintenance schedule
- To produce specifications for owned tasks and functions as required, and to complete task reports as requested
- To maintain mechanical and other relevant drawings and procedures for site
- To take ownership for relevant ‘Site Help Desk’ calls, and other reactive works, and to ensure they are responded to and closed in accordance with agreed targets
- To contribute at hands-on level to successfully deliver site development projects as necessary
- Help to build and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external customers and contractors, and be visible in support of the science carried out on site
- To provide out of hours support as agreed
- Apply working knowledge and experience to EH&S issues as required by legislation (and applicable Directives)
- Time served apprenticeship supported by relevant formal qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in a mechanical or engineering discipline
Other Skills and Experience
- Good level of mechanical experience
- Experience working in industrial or commercial environment
- Good general maintenance skills
- Basic computer skills
- Health & Safety aware
